After ex-Saviors leader Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) brutally killed Maggie's great love Glenn (Steven Yeun), hardly anyone would have thought that Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan would one day meet in their own series will do things together. But that's exactly what's happening in the new The Walking Dead spin-off, The Walking Dead: Dead City. Even if a few years have passed since Glenn's death and Negan seems to have been reformed, despite a discussion at the end of "The Walking Dead", Maggie made it clear to him that she will never forgive him for his actions. And so tensions rise once more as the two meet again in the teaser trailer above. Still, Maggie apparently needs Negan's help... As the previous teaser revealed, in "Dead City" Maggie's son Hershel (who appears to be a teenager now after another time warp) is kidnapped to New York. And Negan seems to be the key to getting him back, according to Maggie. Why this is so is still left open, but he may have a common past with the villain likely responsible for the kidnapping, known only as The Croat (Željko Ivanek). At least Negan doesn't seem to be a stranger in the Big Apple either, as a Wanted poster of him in the new preview suggests. We also see him in the video as he and Maggie navigate a boat across zombie-infested waters to Metropolis - or rather, what's left of it in the undead apocalypse. What else awaits you there is also briefly indicated in a quick sequence of images, but should then finally become clearer with a long trailer and then of course with the series itself. Following "Fear The Walking Dead", "The Walking Dead: World Beyond" and the anthology series "Tales Of The Walking Dead", "The Walking Dead: Dead City" is the fourth spin-off of the zombie series that ended in 2022. Hit series and the first to continue it with two well-known main characters. The offshoot “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” (from autumn 2023) soon takes a similar line, in which the eponymous fan favorite (Norman Reedus) involuntarily ends up in France. Meanwhile, the mini-series "The Walking Dead: Rick & Michonne" is also being eagerly awaited, in which we will finally find out in 2024 what has happened to the two dropouts (Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira) in the meantime. However, the next station in the growing "Walking Dead" universe is the eighth and final season of "Fear The Walking Dead", which starts in Germany on May 15, 2023 on Amazon Prime Video. "The Walking Dead: Dead City" will follow on June 18 on the US broadcaster AMC. However, there is no German date and provider here yet.
